Carol Cave
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Deputy Director, Office of Compliance and Field Operations
Carol Cave has been the Deputy
Director for the Office of Compliance and Field Operations since October
2015. She works with other federal government
agencies to identify unique approaches and solutions to find and identify
potentially defective consumer products. Prior to her current position, she was
the Assistant Executive Director for the Office of Import Surveillance where
she was actively involved in developing the agency’s Risk Assessment
Methodology for Imported Products. Ms.
Cave has an extensive career with the CPSC having served as the Director of
Field Investigations, and having served as part of the Office of Compliance’s
Special Investigations Unit, which identifies hazards not previously reported
to the CPSC and solves technically complex product investigations. She has received numerous awards and honors,
including the World Customs Organization Award for the Importer Self Assessment
Product Safety Pilot Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the
University of Maryland.
